Official Court Contact Routes

Official Torrance County court docket questions belong with the clerk at the court that filed the case. New Mexico Case Lookup can identify a public case, but the responsible District, Magistrate, Probate, or municipal court clerk confirms a setting and handles official record requests.

This Is Not a Court or Government Office. This private reference resource cannot retrieve records, change or reset a court date, issue certified copies, remove a case, or give legal advice. Contact the court that holds the file.

Need an Official Docket or Record?

Use the filing court, not a generic county office, for a court file. The following channels match the documented Torrance County court structure:

  • Public case summary or register: use New Mexico Case Lookup for public state court information.
  • District Court file, record, or date: contact the Torrance County District Court Clerk at the Seventh Judicial District.
  • Magistrate case: contact Torrance Magistrate Court for limited civil, misdemeanor, DWI, traffic, or felony preliminary matters.
  • Municipal citation or ordinance: use the named city court clerk, the citation, and the city schedule for Moriarty, Estancia, or Mountainair matters.
  • Court-held document request: use the New Mexico Judiciary IPRA form and route a Torrance court request to the Seventh Judicial District.

Torrance County District Court Clerk / Seventh Judicial District Court Clerk: Neil Mertz Judicial Complex, 903 N. Fifth Street, Estancia, NM 87016. Phone: 505-384-2974 ext. 40. Public hours listed by the district are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Torrance Magistrate Court: 1100 U.S. Route 66, Moriarty, NM 87035. Phone: 505-832-4476. The Judiciary also lists an Estancia circuit location at 903 N. Fifth Street.

The Torrance County Clerk at 205 S. Ninth Street handles county functions and county-held records. It is not the normal custodian of District or Magistrate Court case files. For an informal-probate matter, verify first whether the record belongs in Torrance County Probate Court or has become a contested District Court matter.
